Guru Tony Marcial is the founder and head instructor of the Marcial Tirada system of Kali. Guru Tony has over 30 years experience in various martial arts systems.

Guru Marcial was born and raised in Quezon City, Philippines. His training started with Shotokan Karate under his father at the age of 7 and started studying Northern White Crane Gung Fu at the age of 8. A great opportunity opened up to him when he turned 9, he was fortunate enough to study the art of Kali Arnis & Eskrima (Pangasinan System) under punong guru Roberto Sarmiento. In this art, he learned weapon fighting first, single sticks, double sticks, sword single knife, double knives and finally empty hand concepts. In empty hand Guru Tony learned traps, 24 locks, usage of elbows & knees for close quarter fighting, ground fighting into grappling locks and/or loose grappling. Tony studied under Punong Guru Sarmiento until he was 15 years of a age. Before leaving for the United States, he accepted his 6th level ranking in Kali by the Barong Society in Quezon City.

In 1969 Guru Tony moved to the United States with his family. Upon his arrival in the United States he began teaching Kali underground. He opened his first Kali school in 1990. In addition, Guru Tony has earned a Black sash ranking in White Crane Gung Fu.
